Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey defended his platforms decision to fact check and place warnings on two of President Trumps tweets this week, further emphasizing the difference between Twitter and Facebook's policies on misinformation.
Fact check: there is someone ultimately accountable for our actions as a company, and thats me, Dorsey tweeted. Please leave our employees out of this. Well continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make.
He also said that the decision to place the warnings doesnt make the platform anarbiter of truth, directly quoting Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg who used the same phrasing earlier Wednesday while defending his decision not to label misinformation shared by politicians on his social media platform.
This does not make us an arbiter of truth. Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is critical so folks can clearly see the why behind our actions, Dorsey said.

What’s Parlor and if you liked it so much and are trying to promote it why not post a link to it?
He does not need to defend why he is fact checking Trump, he needs to defend NOT fact checking all other people or ignoring calls to violence by leftists.
Dorsey is asshoe
What a load of rubbish. The Twitter “fact check “ is itself a lie.
From Tucker Carlson last night :
Carlson then turned to the Twitter fact check of Trump, which read in part: “Experts say mail-in ballots are very rarely linked to voter fraud.”
“As a factual matter, that is a lie,” Carlson said. “And there is no other way to interpret it. But worse than a lie, it is a form of political censorship.”
Rush has a great take on how this was a big mess up by Dorsey:
Sounds like Twitter is officially declaring that anything you read on twitter is guaranteed true, guess they should get ready for the lawsuits when people use information on twitter to make decisions about things that end up having bad consequences for them.
I wager he never fact checked the Kenyan
Jack Dorsey just eliminated the credibility of Twitter.
...Well continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally...
They can create AI bots to re-tweet President’s content with a link to CNN.
But no, they HAVE to change the content of the Presidents message.
Shut them down!
It is spelled Parler. https://parler.com/auth/access
The day Trump moves his account to another platform will be the day Twitter becomes worthless...
