It comes down to whether Twitter and others are a platform or a publisher. Twitter seems to have taken on the role of publisher, so now they own all of the content, to be held accountable for all of it?
So, not only are they making 'in kind political contributions' to the democrat party by erroneously attacking the President, but they can no longer legally offer their publicly traded company as a platform - because they now control content.
I think Trump is acting now because he is the target and it should go quickly to the Supreme Court.
Well, I guess FR should never be allowed to ban liberals again. And DU conservatives. I’m not a fan of government meddling in what private companies do.

It’s not the same thing because FR is upfront about being a conservative site and spells out who’s welcome here and who’s not. Facebook / YouTube / Twitter pretend to be open to all.
I hope whatever executive order is published is well thought out, legally vetted, and meaningful, I dread a repeat of this just being some political posturing points. We’ve seen too many of those already.

With the endless banning on Twitter at least, they don’t seem to even try to be ‘open’. Youtube is a bit better, at least for comments. Most are very pro-Trump.

Free market solution: come up with a different platform and market the crap out of it.
Yes, it should certainly ban private companies from any speech or notices on posts that it disagrees with. This is real sieg heil stuff.
