New York is taxing the earnings of medical professionals who have come from out of state to help out. At some level, someone understands that people in New York are going to get taxed on their earnings. And that would have meant that 25,000 Amazon employees were going to be paying payroll taxes. Plus, New York would have taxed products purchased at the center, thus generating even more revenue. The 25,000 employees would have been spending some of their money which would have benefited many businesses near the Amazon store like gas stations.
The gob smacking stupidity of AOC and others like her like watching someone putting their hand through the bars at the zoo to pet the nice big kitty.

I believe AOC and the Muslim racist brother-f#cking Somalian will lose their seats come November.
I’m good with that. They never should have been elected. .. But then that speaks volumes of the folks that live in those districts. ..stupid people vote for stupid people. ..

I have no interest in defending AOC on this, but she didnt lead anything on this fiasco. The whole thing was driven by a couple of NY state legislators who represent districts in that area, and AOC simple jumped on a bandwagon that was already well on its way to destroying the Amazon deal by the time she was elected.
