Those people don’t seem to trust the efficacy of their own masks.
No, no, no, you don't get it, do you? The mask is to protect YOU from the OTHER people... you know, all of your "plague-carrying" fellow citizens? Because after all, EVERYONE has COVID (or they *might*), so you have to assume that they are a deadly COVID zombie. This way, anyone who doesn't wear a mask can be accused of not caring about others, or valuing "freedom" too much... If they said that masks were effective in PREVENTING you from getting COVID, why then you would have the CHOICE to risk catching it by not wearing a mask. And since lots of people would choose NOT to wear a mask, it would quickly become clear whether masks were making a difference or not (they're not), and the lie would be exposed - or if you're a fearbro, it would confirm your belief that we must all wear masks forever, so that no one can ever get sick again. But if no one is ever allowed to "take the chance" of not wearing a mask, then we can never know if doing so is really necessary or not. It's not, and there's plenty of science and evidence to back that up, whereas there is almost no science or evidence to suggest that all of the stupid masks, the stupid plexiglass shields everywhere, the stupid little squares and lines and arrows on the floor to promote "socialist distancing", are doing anything other than creating an environment of fear and stupidity, which is why you have people acting this way in a grocery store.
It's absolutely sick, and this mask b.s. has to end now. It is a lie that is perpetuating the fear and panic, which is exactly why government is so insistent on forcing people to wear them. If lockdowns work, if "socialist distancing" works, if masks work, then we should have been DONE with all of this at least a month ago, because COVID would no longer be a significant threat to "overwhelm" the hospital system. Remember when THAT was the concern? "Flattening the curve"? Yeah, didn't take long for that to become "Everyone could have COVID, and we can NEVER return to "normal" unless and until there's a COVID vaccine!"
Oh and by the way, in late September or early October, we're going to see a "second wave" (there won't actually be one, but suddenly no one will be dying of gunshot wounds, or car accidents, or heart attacks - they'll all magically become COVID deaths), and they will use it to lock everything down again heading into the election. So enjoy your month or two of relative "freedom", cause it ain't gonna last.
