No, I was born in Pensacola, but moved to NO at the age of two, stayed until 19, came back at 24, lived there until Hurricane Katrina, when I went back to Florida.

Between 24-36, I lived in the hood. The part I lived in was mixed, but one two block over in any direction, you weren’t in Kansas anymore. Very bad area, I witnessed a murder that occurred in a house right around the corner from mine.

Fortunately, my friend and I got the wrong license number of the getaway vehicle, otherwise we might have been called as witnesses, which is not what you want to have happen, but I didn’t know this at the time.

This was an execution of a 17 year old neighbor over drugs. He knew who shot him, and did not disclose their identity during the three days that he remained alive afterward.

That is a crazy town right there, I would recommend avoiding it.

Oh, yeah, it can be dangerous to a person’s health. I grew up in what the PC crowd might call “diverse neighborhoods”. Everybody got along pretty well because they were working poor-middle class.
But I wouldn’t want live in or near a “hood” fer dam sure, because of the out of control crime. Wouldn’t care to live in many trailer parks for the same reason.
Did you ever hear a NO resident say “Nawlins” or was it just idiots who thought they sounded like a local?
