Oddly, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York all mindlessly followed the same CDC guidelines. None of the red governors followed such an idiotic, inhuman policy. Even Canada, not part of the US, did the same.
It's another question, why the CDC guidelines would say such a thing. Trying to pin the scrawlings of some nameless CDC bureaucrat on Trump as the author is tortuous, but the buck does stop with POTUS, and he should see to it that the guidelines be changed.
too much news these days that exclude the timeline of events.
1. What day did CDC issue the nursing home guidelines and what did the guidelines say?
2. What day did the Javits Center Hospital, USN Comfort, Samaritan Purse hospital, the Brooklyn field hospital (that was never used) become available?
3. What day did Cuomo issue the order requiring nursing homes to take covid positive patients?
4. What were the other states that issued similar orders forcing nursing homes to take covid positive patients?
News should be for the purpose of informing people. Instead, the journalists are too lazy and only tell half the story or less.
Only a New Yorker would believe his excuse.
The CDC guidelines did not compel him to transfer the infected persons to the nursing homes. He may have used the CDC guidelines as a club to force the nursing homes to accept them but that was on him, not Trump. If thats what he did then it shows that these laws prohibiting discrimination do more harm than good.
He said the problem with Cuomo is not that that he just makes these wrong, bone-headed decisions.
It's that the guy is not very smart begin with.
