The political nature of this drug because Trump said it is bizarre, but that is the media we have (and hate). I have said it many times - I hope both drugs/treatments work and hope they find even more. Any treatment with a good rate of effectiveness would be huge.
With that said, the doctors who have been using the HCQ treatment have convinced me that it is effective with little side effects. I don’t care what the media says. They have no incentive to lie about what they have been doing and no dog in the political fight - they are treating real people.
If I catch this and get sick I am demanding the HCQ treatment (with zinc sulfate and a Z-pak).
However, I would be happy if Remdesivir or another drug worked too. The more the merrier!
