Memorial Day Weekend Corona Virus Thread
One egg is enough. Used cheapo ingredients. Cheapo franks cut into 5ths. Rinsed out the wee bit of evaporated milk from an opened can so could substitute water for the buttermilk. Used less sugar - ack, forgot to add that 8 cents to the total. Added a pinch of cayenne just because. Bet they’d be good with shredded cheddar cheese or jalapenos diced into the batter. Basic recipe for jumping off point.

The word ‘pool’ begins with the letter ‘p’ for a reason...
That lady’s ‘son’ is what we’re supposed to sacrifice our parents for.
Most under 40’s (and many under 50’s) never learned to cook. Not even make whop’m biscuits. I’m unfortunately related to a few. I blame their parents and grandparents.
It’s a thing though.
And anything that ‘gets them started’ is a good thing.
Baby steps.
I’ve got a relation that built a 5000sqft+ house with all the accoutrements. Including viking and sub zero kitchen appliances.
3 years after they moved in they hosted a wedding reception for another relative. The caterer was the FIRST person (after the installation) to use the stove and ovens. No lie. The microwave and toaster had been used though, for frozen stuff and to reheat restaurant meals.
Missouri used to be the “show me” state.
Apparently it is now the “nothing to see here” state:

:-(
You are in a hard-hit area so you know the score. I misunderstood this neighborhood at first, didn’t realize the huge housing project there was bringing the numbers way up.
I wish more people from the small towns and other areas that were pretty much spared would listen to those on the front lines.

Another gross ‘P’ool picture.
At least they’re getting sun and D3.
Need to put that chemical in the water that turns color when somone pees...
What is it about getting in a pool with 1000 of your fellow humans?
Microbe stew.
Thank you for the excellent graphs and tables.
Oops. Too late!

There are no good choices with this bug, only bad ones and worse ones. Given the circumstances, I believe that what I said above is the least bad one.
I meant “NOT unlike the 3 Laws takeover” — d’oh!
Assuming the pool has sufficient chlorine, their derpery won’t result in spread as wildfire as on land.
Re: 78 - Good post.
Unfortunately the name calling is alive and well on FR, I think more now due to the stress that some people are under.
No matter what, we need to get people back to work. Even if it means wearing a bunny suit (haha), or whatever, we need to get back to work. As you rightly note, it’s going to take some time. I believe the economic damage will take years to repair.

A couple of days old, but I dont remember seeing it:
Breakthrough Drug: Ivermectin Shows ‘Astounding’ Results Against Coronavirus

Ayup.
And catching states ‘doctoring’ the case numbers won’t help either.
With that many people, you’d have to swim in bleach to deal with the microbial load.
Disgusting.
When I was a kiddo we went to a state park one Memorial weekend. The pool looked just like that. Friends and I went in anyways. We had those swim goggles and some ‘fetch from the bottom of the pool toys’. Played all afternoon. Had a blast.
Had a stomach virus for the next week.
Ivermectin was the least expensive product I purchased on Amazon, $2.10 at the time, about the same as a disposable mask, while most of the other supplements were running $20-$30.
