Second mink to human transmission in Netherlands, vets and breeders are worried
Superspreader in town?
Ya, me too.
I find it ‘interesting’ that nearly 6 months on we still haven’t heard of any lingering side effects other than anecdotal personal ones.
Do a cpl 2 or 3 hrs prep/cooking at once and put your prepared meals in storage containers in the fridge or freezer for the week.
Did this when I worked. Saved a BUNCH of money, didn’t eat crap and always had something to take for lunch.
Tear up several heads of lettuce, rinse, put in ziploc bag in fridge. Cook chicken in instant pot, shred, store in bag in fridge. You could even assembly line bowls (with lids) of lettuce and ingredients stored in your fridge that only await your dressing of choice.
2 more words. Instant Pot.
That actually worries me. Interspecies transmission is how things acquire ‘mad skillz’.

Clearly contact tracing is a new thing that’s never been done before. /s

Houston, Texas Coronavirus Cases Rise as Houston Mayor Says ‘We’re Not Equipped’ to Handle Projected Surge
Mayor Sylvester Turner confirmed on Sunday that fire marshals would start to enforce health policies in place to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus in bars and clubs, which are only permitted to open to the public with 25 percent occupancy.
..one new projection model suggested the region could see 2,000 daily new cases by June, KSAT reported.
“We’re not equipped to handle that type of surge,” Turner said. “We can take about 200 cases a day... with contact tracing and we’re building up that program.

Not just her.
Relevant to a discussion on this thread some posts back.
The ‘not very transmissible from surfaces’ has been interpreted as ‘can’t get it from surfaces’.
Which was the whole point of that ‘discovery’.
Now businesses don’t have to spend time or money disinfecting surfaces.
Big money approves of this finding!
The CDC’s New ‘Best Estimate’ Implies a COVID-19 Infection Fatality Rate Below 0.3%
That rate is much lower than the numbers used in the horrifying projections that shaped the government response to the epidemic. - https://reason.com/2020/05/24/the-cdcs-new-best-estimate-implies-a-covid-19-infection-fatality-rate-below-0-3/

If 0.3% was the actual fatality rate, then we would be talking about “just the flu” and there is no way that China would have locked down Wuhan, Italy would have locked down Milan, Spain would have locked down Madrid etc.
That number does not pass the laugh test.
