No need to try again, you're wrong.

Show me where the courts have ruled this unconstitutional and I'll agree with you. But both history and court precedent are against you.

Now there is an interesting twist in this case, because the 1976 law provided legislative oversight after 28 days, but didn't specifically amend the 1945 act which gave the governor broad powers. A judge has ruled in favor of the governor. We'll see what the appeals court come back with.

You sidestepped - the sheriff is the arbiter of what is a constitutional mandate, and swore an oath to uphold the constitution.

You have a 105 year old SCOTUS precedent upholding such emergency powers as constitutional, saying that communities have the right to protect themselves against threats such as contagious diseases.

I don't think they meant that the gov't could lock you in your house to keep the disease at bay...I suspect they meant you, the individual could use what means/force were necessary to keep diseased people from entering your house, including gov't thugs who could very well bring the disease with them...
