The Left is like a shark — it stays alive as long as it’s moving forward. The Left has had a lot of momentum and feels that its success is inevitable.
But at some point, I think, people will stop and re-assess. They will look at election fraud. They will look at certain murders. They will look at sex crimes and human trafficking. They will look at Obamagate. They will look at COVID-19. Once people start to question what’s really been happening, things will fall apart very quickly for the Left.
I maintain that the Left does have a core of True Believers, but mostly the Democrats consist of poorly informed people who think they are supporting the Good Guys. That can change.
Democrats deny you the right to work but send you a tax bill.
And anybody who takes democRATs and/or The Media utterings to heart are a special kind of stupid. It’s better to just ignore what they say since the only crap that comes out of their mouth is a lie.
1. China bears no responsibility for this pandemic;
2. COVID-19 doesn’t discriminate: Old and young, sick and well – all are equally susceptible;
3. This epidemic is like a war. Some civil liberties have to be temporarily suspended as a matter of national survival;
4. Social distancing and face masks work;
5. Damage to the economy is the price we have to pay to stop a deadly contagion;
(And the best for last)
6. The shutdown doesn’t favor one party or the other
Indeed the tax and spend party.

We have to be under restrictions until there is a vaccine.
This type of virus has been around for a long time and there’s never been a successful vaccine developed for any form of it.
I had two friends about ten yrs ago - one a social worker and the other an active member of local dimocrat party - both are now conservatives and both put conservative posts on their facebook page.

While I recognize some perception in the shark analogy, I don’t see real momentum forward. They tack back and forth between various points of harassment and spend lots of time circling the ones that used to contain red meat, but no longer carry the scent of blood.
They’ve been reduced to infantile ad hominems.
They project a sense of inevitability which lacks conviction. Perhaps in the distant future, if they retain even their present base and blandishments, they will succeed.
Life has a way of making fools of us all. I really think this virus response is their turn for that.
7) Only government employees are essential.
Even though there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth from Blue State governors, about the dearth of tax revenues because of the lockdown, government employees are not being laid off. Yet, a huge number of them are not only not going to work, they are not working from home. They are doing nothing from home.
Now, I am not saying NO government employees are essential even though I know a lot of you are going to take it that way. I will say MOST are the true non-essential employees. And that is proven every time there is an inch of snow forecast.
Commence flaming. I'm ready for it.
I really just meant that they’ve been doing their “long march through the institutions”. Entertainment, news media, education, etc. Perhaps it’s not “momentum” but they propagandize effectively and sway the views of some people. But that only works if a lot of people are drinking the Kool-Aid. It’s like the Emperor’s New Clothes. Everything seems fine until someone says, “There’s nothing there.”

The Long March was completed 20 years ago. The past 4 years have revealed the extent of their destruction, which is the ‘total transformation’ the ones who were waiting for themselves accomplished.
They burned it all down and now yell: “Yay, us.”
Too bad for the author that it was the White [Chess] Queen in "Through the Looking-Glass" to mar an otherwise decent article.
