BTW, I just parted ways with my church temporarily over this. They are welcoming everyone back starting next week but you have to wear a mask and social distance.
I’m one of those Christians that really has a tough time with the whole American “church” paradigm. I go for only two reasons:
To learn from the body and teach the body.
We were created as communal creatures. We need each other’s company similarly to a beehive or pride of lions. I don’t need to “go to church” to take communion, study the bible and other historical recordings of Christianity, pray or worship. The only thing I need it for is to commune with other believers, gathered together in Jesus’ name.
I don’t get that from TV preachers.
I don’t get that from Zoom sunday school.
I don’t get that with everyone hiding their face with a useless mask.
So for a while I’ll not be attending a church, but I’ll still be studying, taking communion, praying, etc. And I have my wife with me.
