It's a private business. They have the right to demand that everyone shop in bikinis, to say nothing of facemasks. You have the marvelous right not to shop there if you don't like their policies. Isn't freedom (and specifically the freedom that is capitalism) grand?

With this I agree. And that is why, even though I’ve been a member since 1988, I’m avoiding the place now and we might actually cancel our membership.
We’ll see how it’s going a month from now.

Thanks for the great response which was mine as well. Just shop elsewhere!

Is someone forcing you to line up and go to Costco?
Me, I go by the Trader Joes within walking distance and see a line down the block and then DON’T GET IN LINE.
Pretty simple.

Yes, they have that right, but doesn’t mean its a good idea or that customers can’t voice complaints.

I don't know about you, but as for me -- I don't want to see the typical Costco shopper in a bikini. FFS some of the biggest, widest most ignorant of others people I've ever seen are in Costco! NFW I want to see them in bikini's!

Like Facebook is, and all these other social media platforms that censor what you can see, say, and read.
So I don’t go there.

Yeah moron, everybody knows that. He is using his freedom to communicate his displeasure. Isnt that grand?

Disagree.
Costco is membership based and members have the right to sue and demand Costco prove in court the science they use to make their decision.
There are also scientific arguments that masks do more harm than good.
By requiring masks without scientific basis, Costco puts their members at risk.

Remember, problem is you have to pay them in advance in the form of an annual membership to be able to buy anything there. So at least IMO its not that cut and dried.

If it was free, you'd have a point.

"It's a private business. They have the right to demand that everyone shop in bikinis, to say nothing of facemasks." Costco and Costco members have a signed membership agreement which is a legal contract. Demanding conditions above and beyond that contract puts Costco in breach, and subject to class action.

Exactly right! Personally I think all the push on masks is malarkey, one minute the CDC says they do nothing for healthy people and the next they flipflop, but if a private business says I need to wear one to enter I respect their wishes or don’t shop there. As for Costco, they have even more say being a membership store and when you join you agree to abide by their rules.
