‘93000 dead. Since Feb 29.’

93,000 people who were healthy before Feb 29 did not just up and drop dead from a viral infection, as you are implying...you know as well as everyone else that factors other than Covid 19 contributed to the death toll in our elderly cohort...

We moved from seattle to kentucky nine years ago. We LIVED BY costco and have been members since 1988. We spent as much as $30k a year there some years.

But a funny thing happened. When we moved to the sticks we found that we were 90 minutes from the nearest costco and the only “real” local choice was wal-mart - which is a non-started.

Then we started using Amazon. Holy cow! Much more selection by several orders of magnitude than Costco, and better prices often. We are seeing a fed-ex or UPS truck almost every day.

And we’ve been doing some soul searching on why we even keep a Costco membership. The only real reasons are:
1. Tires are a good deal. I have four cars and either get the really nice Michelen sport tires for one of my cars, or the Bridgestone for the other three. And one or the other brand is always on sale for a significant discount.
2. Liquor is ridiculously cheap there. Especially the Kirkland brand which, in many cases is one of the best.
3. A weird status of having a 32 year old membership.
4. They sell their rotisserie chicken at a loss and it is excellent.

But honestly, we just don’t use it much any more. Because I work in Louisville, I drive fairly close by one of them on my way home, when we need a lot of spinach or something. But Amazon has virtually completely replaced them for us. And Costco online doesn’t compete yet. And on a side note, if they don’t get their online act together, I think Amazon will bury them eventually

Your ignorance is astounding. Not only are you clueless about the law but simple science as well.

Took the wife in for a doctor’s appt this morning. Techs met us at the front door...checked our temps, asked if we had masks. We both put ours on. The wife’s was a clothe mask with no vent...mine an N95 mask with the vent. She was good to go...I had to wear one of their medical type mask that fit like an American flag flapping in the breeze. My vented mask was safer.

My boss dropped his Costco membership because of this whole mask thing. He said he’s getting membership at Sam’s Club.

The problem is...he went up to the Sam’s Club in Auburn...which closed suddenly last year. He didn’t know about that (although I swear I told him). He’s not sure what he’s going to do now.

As for wearing them, he bought us reusable masks (even though he doesn’t believe in them at all). The only reason for that is that some of our clients are sheep. (Metaphorically speaking, of course.) When I go to a client’s house I ask if I should wear a mask before I step into the house. Right now, it’s running maybe 50/50 between ‘do’ and ‘no need’. It is a bit harder to do my job with one on, but we do it so our clients feel ‘safe’...which is more along the lines of good customer service than anything else.

Since you obviously aren’t very bright maybe you should ask yourself why medics and nurses wear masks doing surgical procedures if they are as useless as you claim.......How many Non-Doctors are doing surgery in Walmart?

you’re the jerk. if people want to wear masks, let them. Why are you advocating, as an alleged conservative, that “I” have to wear one to keep others that are wearing them SAFE??

‘Then all those doctors and nurses in hospital operating rooms must feel pretty dumb.’

you were on another thread making this silly argument, and you were schooled on why your analogy is bunk...the ER is a sterile environment, the docs and nurses are garbed in a lot more than medical grade face masks...but you already know that, and are arguing for arguments sake...

It is a private business. If they wanted to they can say you are only allowed to shop with blue hair and wearing your undies if they want to.

I don't wear a mask, and think they are useless, but in this case it is no different than "No shirt, No Shoes, No service".

I appreciate those who are wearing masks while shopping in stores. I do not want to walk into your nasal spray when you sneeze. Keep the sneeze between yourself and your mask.

Wearing masks in stores also makes it easier for the owner to keep the store clean.

I was in Home Depot yesterday and they have hired students from the local technical college to keep the big box clean.

When the stores have to hire more people to keep it clean because some people are mavericks who refuse to wear a mask, then the prices of the goods go up for all of us.

Duh. Masks work as well in Walmart as they do in hospitals.

But then even a stupid fool would know that right?
