Someone on another forum said a nuclear reactor (Dow chemical plant) is in the flood zone for one of the breaches. I dont know if true
The Midland “Nuclear” Power Plant was never completed; the Consumers Power company ran out of money for the project in the 80’s, iirc. Also there was a sinking foundations issue. It was repurposed in ‘91 as a natural gas cogeneration plant to provide power for the grid and steam heat to the Dow chemical plant that is nearby.
Nuclear power can’t beat the economics of natural gas power generation since the fracking revolution began. There may be a case for 5th generation mini-nukes for towns that are remote from the gas pipelines.

Palisades Nuclear Power Plant South Haven 800 Scheduled for closure in 2022.
Do any of these look like the one you’re talking about?
A quick search and I see that it used to be a nuke plant, now converted over to natural gas to generate steam.
Given how stupidly Fukashima was designed, I fear that this one is designed such that the generators that keep the feedwater pumps going in a power outage are in the lowest part of the plant.
They better have their crap together. Given the Governor should be wearing a “I wish these were brains” T-shirt everywhere she goes, I’m pretty sure she’s not on top of this.
