“I get homesick every time I hear her lovely NC accent.”

When I moved to GA from TX the soft drawl and vowels were music to my ears. In TX we have a long drawl and hard vowels. I do still love to hear a Texan talk, but the deep south soft vowels are so lovely.

For example:

Adairsville

Texan pronunciation = A-dAirsville.

Deep South pronunciation = Hu-dursville.

Pure music to the ears.

I have a friend from Mississippi and I love her accent. She’s 70 and is proud of it.
