According to a NYU study, the legendary five-minute Abbott coronavirus test misses close to 50 percent of positive infections.
Abbott disputes this. The company claims its own false negatives are just .02 percent and it is not convinced NYU did the tests correctly.

This test is the one currently in use at the White House and the one President Trump touts as the five-minute test because it can produce a positive result in five to 13 minutes, and a negative result in 13 minutes.

When you are racing at breakneck speed to get so many things done yesterday, stuff like this is bound to happen.
It’s the reason to be very, very cautious about any vaccine that shows up.
The good news is, this is a mark against Bad Orange Man AND the private sector — a twofer!

local docs and local hospitals have zero confidence in the Abbot quick test and none of them use it ... they all use the “long stick” test ...
that’s good. our hospital and reference lab here same thing. rejected weeks ago. don’t trust abbott.
