Trump called it right, firing Marie Yovanovitch -- whom we now learn was lying through her teeth

The highly vaunted Trump-hating U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, has been caught lying through her teeth, under oath, to Congress. John Solomon, who conducted a Freedom of Information Act query, has the goods:

During her testimony, the ambassador told lawmakers her knowledge about Burisma and its relationship with Hunter Biden was limited mostly to a briefing before she went to Kiev as the top U.S. diplomat and what she read in news reports.

Newly released memos state Yovanovitch had a direct meeting with a Burisma representative in December 2016, and received a detailed letter from the company's lawyer.

It's also rich, given the copious praise she drew for her 'bravery' when she was giving her testimony, wiping tears, and playing martyr, a victim of President Trump, who supposedly terrified her.

Former senior U.S. diplomats Philip Gordon and Daniel Fried praised Yovanovitch and condemned Trump's "egregious mistreatment of one of the country's most distinguished ambassadors," writing that this had demoralized the U.S. diplomatic corps and undermined U.S. foreign policy.

The American Foreign Service Association and American Academy of Diplomacy expressed alarm at Trump's disparagement of Yovanovitch in his call with Zelensky.

Michael McKinley, a career foreign service officer who served as ambassador to four countries and had been chief adviser to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, resigned in protest of Trump's attacks against Yovanovitch and "the State Department's unwillingness to protect career diplomats from politically motivated pressure."

Yovanovitch's ouster became one of the issues explored in the House impeachment inquiry against Trump;her recall was termed "a political hit job" by Democrats in Congress.

Democrats accused Trump of witness intimidation -- an accusation they said might be considered for potential articles of impeachment. During her hearing, Yovanovitch said she found Trump’s tweets "very intimidating."

It is now beyond clear that things Giuliani said he had learned about her were in fact correct.

What would these exonerators be saying if a Republican had uttered such lies?

We both know the answer to that, but we could also very well be looking at six months of virtual-reality jamming from various house committees and the Democrat-MSM screaming and emotionalism trying to make the case that what Yovanovitch did wasn't really lying.

They are perfectly capable of that.
