Although Dr. Anthony Fauci's NIAID (one of the institutes of the NIH) has lost its power to slow-walk a vaccine solution to COVID-19, he still retains his power to disparage HCQ (hydroxychloroquine), the most effective treatment against COVID-19. During the last couple weeks, he has publicized two studies in which HCQ without zinc hasn't worked with hospitalized patients. He has been so successful at disparaging HCQ that hospital use of HCQ has been declining. HCQ is a zinc-ionophore (meaning that it helps transport available zinc from the bloodstream through cell walls into cells where it slows virus replication).

There hasn’t been double blind testing done, which is what is needed in order to validate HCQ. Until then Fauci isn’t free to say it works. That doesn’t stop doctors from prescribing it.

I’d be curious to see where that actually happened. Refusing to fill a prescription violates California code. Most states that do permit a pharmacy to refuse a prescription only allow that in the case of moral or religious objection such as morning after pills.

If they aren’t vegans who unaccountably also avoid nuts, seeds, avocados and spinach then they will be getting zinc from their diet. Adult RDA is 13 mg. One half lb of beef would give you 100%.
HCQ simply allows zinc already in your bloodstream to cross the cell membrane. Ionophore.
It’s folk medicine, i’ll admit, but before the CCP Virus hit, I had to travel on airplanes for work at least twice a week.
I started vitamin C and Zinc supplementation and went from getting colds all the time, to never getting a cold.
Purely anecdotal, but lots of folks swear by the stuff.
A Cuomo EO in NYS prohibits doctors from writing prescriptions and pharmacies from filling prescriptions, for off label use of HCQ, outside of hospitals and outside of Cuomo approved studies.

You’re missing that Howard Richmon fails to offer any evidence at all that Americans are lacking the necessary amount of zinc for HCQ to work.
He doesn’t offer that evidence because there isn’t any. He just assumes that there is because it’s necessary for his argument. In America you would have to work hard at not getting enough zinc from your normal diet.
The first clue that this was going to be a nonsense article was his linking HCQ with the Tuskegee syphillis study, as if there is the remotest connection.
Hmmm...well i’m not a doctor, but I understood that Zinc deficiency was often found in people with sickle cell disease, and chronic liver and kidney problems, which are clearly associated with poorer outcomes when infected by the CCP virus.
You’re reacting strongly to this, so I’m genuinely interested in getting educated on the issue.
In any event, the piece was clearly referencing the Doctor Who Must Not Be Named (Zelenko) and his famous “Zelenko Protocol”.
We’ll have to agree to disagree on the analogy, which, granted, is a bit hyperventilated, but not completely off of the mark. If Fauci is indeed deliberately NOT testing the protocol that was proposed, there needs to be an explanation.
It could be that “Zelenko is a crank/quack”. It could be “there’s no need for zinc supplementation, normal blood levels should be fine”. It could be something else, but it’s an obvious question.
