What did I just say about this? 98% of the GOP will not fully prosecute a Dem. It’s not just the Dems themselves who observe the double standard. Ask Lindsey Graham or The Turtle about it. This habit has become ingrained in the GOP party.
Perhaps the habit is generational and will fade over the next 10 years.
subversion of the elected government and threatening to stop aid if your son’s investigation isn’t stopped are apparently not crimes.
No surprise here. Yet theyll have Trump and/or his family in chains the next day after a DemoRat is ever sworn in.
I believe there has never been a criminal pursuit of an ex-president. Nixon might have been the first, so much was he hated by democrats, but Fords pardon avoided that eventuality. I think for good reason. We do not want to initiate a scorched earth policy against former office holders. OTOH, former office holders, as in former presidents, should adhere to the tradition of sitting down and shutting up.
I have a feeling this is more of the “we won’t prosecute your guy and you won’t prosecute ours” ruling class bargain.
All you need to know folks. Members of “The Club” protecting each other as usual.
Move along.
That is so cool!!
Let’s say you are Comey, McCabe, STrzok, Lisa....Brennan, Clapper...and on and on...
And let’s say that if lower level people are in trouble, I don’t know about anyone else, but I would be FURIOUS, if I knew the orders were given.
So, Let’s see how many are in trouble and let’s see if they may want to explain their criminal actions.
I LOVE IT.
Scumbags snitch and these guys are scum.
And so it continues. When he wouldn’t touch McCabe I figured it was over.
while Obama (and Biden) should be included for sure, I’d settle for a serious treatment of the Puppetmeister hisself SorozNazi and his almost as evil scions
Turns out Obama gets off scot-free.
For those interested in listening directly to what Barr said go here and fast forward to the 35 minute mark.
His comments were pretty strong. There are some very important acknowledgements by him in what he said.
He acknowledged a dual standard of justice.
He acknowledged that the cycle of politicization of the DOJ must be broken.
He said in pretty blunt terms that “spygate” was real and it unfairly targeted the President during the election and for the first two years of his administration.
He said the investigation continued.

We are right to be angry. I am angry. However, I would listen to what he said before I replied. For those who have some fantasy that the prior President/Vice-President will be jailed you will come away disappointed. For those who want the DOJ to come clean about what happened you will be satisfied and as expected, history will be the judge.
I had no problem with his comments. What he said was true. What he DID NOT directly acknowledge was how this partisan witch hunt by our own government impacted the 2018 election. That was not on him, but he might have elaborated more on it.
“”What happened to the President in the 2016 election and the throughout the first two years of his administration was abhorent, it was a grave injustice, and it was unprecedented in our history... the law enforcement and intel apparatus of this country was involved in advancing a FALSE and utterly baseless Russian collusion narrative against the President. The proper investigative and prosecutive standards of the DOJ were abused in order to reach a particular result. We saw two different standards of justice emerge - one for Trump and one for everyone else. We cannot allow this to happen.” (para)
He said those who “broke the laws” will be held to account. He said the only way to stop this cycle is to scrupulously apply the single and proper standard of justice for everybody.
Some aspects of the Durham investigation are being investigated as potential crimes. Cited the “Bridgegate” case and says an abuse of power, no matter how outrageous, does not necessarily constitute a Federal crime. They are focused on others - not Obama/Biden.
Unlike others who will likely post on this thread, I found his comments to be reassuring and it will be hard for anyone to spin them. It won’t satisfy those who want trials and public hangings, but he pretty much GUTTED the Russian collusion delusion and the Mueller probe from the podium.
Does Trump choose these people on his own, or did he have advisors on picking Sessions and Barr for AG? Trump appears to be a little naive about these DC creatures.
BTW, is Trump still falling all over himself praising the two idiot Coronavirus “experts,” Fauci and Birx?
“It’s not illegal if the President does it”
- Richard Nixon
One of his enduring truths.
No POTUS will ever be prosecuted for anything they do in office.
Of course zealots on both sides of the aisle will clamor for it when they have the advantage, but it will never happen.
Obama did the one thing that a President can do that CANNOT BE IGNORED: He turn the power of his government against a political rival or successor, which undermined the peaceful transfer of power and diluted the full effectiveness of a person elected by WE THE PEOPLE. Former President or not, this CANNOT BE IGNORED!!!!!!!!! It strikes at the very heart of what makes this country free. NO LAME A$$ EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This country is dead. It has the name but America is too far gone from its founding. If Obama,Biden and Clinton and their ilk are not punished, then we are truly finished as a nation. The left owns it. Obamagate and Coronagate has done what our enemies dream of. We are our worst enemy.
So Trump can do the same thing - use the FBI and CIA against political rivals
