It’s not just the financial loss, but how willing now is anybody to start or maintain a business when he can be ruined financially at any time at the word of some wannabe tin-pot dictator? People are going to think twice about starting businesses, and that’s going to leave a permanent mark on the economy.
Eventually only Mexican restaurants will be the only ones left.
I don’t like seeing any businesses cease operations but Specialty’s sandwiches were horrible and way overpriced.
Just my opinion...
and Chinese ones!
Too bad. The soup was great
Exactly. I try to make this point as well with anyone who will listen. On top of all the other difficulties in opening, hiring staff, and running a business, who will now take such risks knowing that unaccountable office holders and bureaucrats can, at any momemt, for an indefinite period, and for reasons having nothing to do with their operation, shut down their business?
Madness.
So true.
It is the same thing with renting homes or apartments to people. I was thinking about renting room to bring in extra cash or if I could buy another property later on rent it out. Now I wouldn’t do it.
Also, the soon to be former employees will have to look for a job. Loss of tax revenue to the government. It all cascades. Creating more job loss.
Using environmental extremism and virus close-down hysteria, the Democrats are doing everything they can to destroy our prosperity and make us more like China.

There will be money seeking a place to land.
risk shifting............................
I was talking to the good people at this restaurant yesterday -- they're also having a tough time, with daily revenue down some 70%. If they go under I go Boogaloo.
..and Chinese take-outs.
Eventually only Mexican restaurants will be the only ones left.
...and Chinese
The boogaloo is getting amazingly close.
I suspect the next time a governor wants a lockdown... he/she is going to be facing a lot more opposition in the various legislatures and courts. At least I hope that’s the way it works out.
There is a Black Bear Diner near me, but never been inside.
Another victory for Rat Party Headquarters.
This was a place that baked home made ~10 sandwich breads and fresh cookies every day so the sandwich was warm from fresh baked bread. The best sandwiches in the financial district of San Francisco for decades.
This pandemic will have a million similar stories where loved institutions will be gone forever. Perhaps to be replaced by big name chains/ franchises. Sad.
Only the big chains/franchises will survive this. Small business is dead forever. Like what was written earlier, who would want to start a business in the future once all of this is over with? No one.
Good job, Fauci. Too bad Trump fell for the hype and governors perpetuated it for partisan purposes.
