Right now Sweden is running 100 more deaths per million than we are.
one hundred per million is a rounding error. They point of the lockdown never was to impact the total numbers it was to flatten the curve so health care did not get overwhelmed. Sweden has managed to stay open and not overwhelm their health care system something that we should have done as well
“Right now Sweden is running 100 more deaths per million than we are.”
Not New York or Massachusetts or Jersey.
Yeah, but Sweden is running at almost 1/2 the total cases per million (vs. the USA). Older population causing their “deaths per million” to be higher?
Actually it’s 90, 275 for the US and 365 for Sweden. A better comparison though is between Sweden and New Jersey where I live. NJ is 800 deaths per million more than Sweden and we are close to their population and density. I’d rather have Sweden’s number than where I live. They don’t have Wyoming and the rest of the low death US states to balance them out.
100 in 1,000,000 -or- 1 in 10,000
Statistically insignificant
What is this “we” you are talking about?
Why don’t you compare Sweden to NY NJ or Michigan who are doing far worse than Sweden?
That’s an additional 1 in 10,000, right?
88 as of today, from Doughty One.
“Right now Sweden is running 100 more deaths per million than we are.’
sweden’s population is about equal to New Jersey’s, so if your figure is accurate, that would be an extra 1,000 deaths ...
More deaths now less deaths later. But once this thing flattens the per capita death tolls will be similar.
The US decided to drag the death count out over a few years so we will have to wait sometime for the reapers harvest.
Re: “Right now Sweden is running 100 more deaths per million than we are.”
Sounds impressive, but their death toll is just 36% higher than the USA.
Also, 95% of their population lives within an area that is smaller than New York state.
And, every major Swedish city is connected to every other major city by an excellent rail system.
The death toll in New York state, by the way, is almost 8 times higher than Sweden.
And, the Swedes are a lot closer to here immunity than we are.

And for that reason I’ve stated the reality that the U.S. should be prepared for 150K deaths when all is said & done. Perhaps more, mostly as a result of the lousy state of health of the elderly in this country.
Senior care facilities are big business in the U.S.
Unfortunately, I do not define what I have witnessed in some of them as “living” (just “alive”).
