Well, Trump did well in the Midterms, adding two Senate seats. Most Presidents do far worse.
He serves at the pleasure of the president. His service no longer pleases the president. That’s the only explanation you are owed.
Why didn’t Grassley demand answers from Obama as to why there was no permanent IG while Hillary was Secretary of State. George W. Bush’s appointee left when Obama was inaugurated, and he never nominated anyone until after Hillary left. This Linick guy came in when Kerry took over.
