The 6-foot-tape marks were usually a requirement from the government to maintain 6-foot separation.
The arrows were the same; with 8-foot-wide aisles, they simply could not say they were keeping separation, if they “allowed” people to pass each other in the aisles.
So they did the arrow, and government didn’t harass them. And in the store I go to, they didn’t harass anybody who failed to follow the arrows, so it was just one of those things you do to keep government from shutting you down.
I don’t worry about kids because they can’t really spread this particular disease, even though government is pretending they can so the teachers can have extended holidays (at least in my state, where they decided not to allow online class training because 5% of the kids didn’t have internet and it “would not be fair” if they taught the other 95%).
