Rep. Devin Nunes, top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, vowed to pursue multiple new criminal referrals amid ongoing revelations in the Justice Department's handling of the Russia probe.
Nunes said, "We're looking at doing criminal referrals on the Mueller team, the Mueller dossier team, the Mueller witch hunt."
Last year, Nunes sent eight criminal referrals to William Barr alleging "potential violations" of the law in the course the FBIs investigation into Russian meddling and contacts with Trump advisers.
In the wake of the Justice Department's dropping charges against Michael Flynn, Nunes is turning his attention to the conduct of the special counsel appointed after President Trump fired James Comey.
"We're doing a large criminal referral on the Mueller dossier team that put together a fraudulent report -- that knew there was no collusion the day that Mueller walked in the door. They set an obstruction of justice trap. There's no doubt in my mind that we will make a conspiracy referral there."
Nunes added that he is also interested in determining whether members of the DOJ and FBI senior leadership were involved.
In regard to , Nunes said the lead lawyer in the prosecution of Flynn must be investigated.
"That attorney had to know those documents existed, had to know they were working with a falsified 302," said Nunes.
Nunes will ask Barr to investigate obstruction of the congressional investigation into the origins of the Russia probe.
"We'll also be making an obstruction of justice criminal referral because the House had multiple requests, multiple subpoenas that effectively were never answered.
"They thought it was cute to just not give us things and say that they met the requirements," he continued. "Well, now that these documents are turning up, you know, who was guiding the redactions that were done?"

Call me when someones in jail.
I’m hoping people start going to prison around October 1.
Well, lets see if we can find any prosecutions based on referrals in recent decades.
I like Nunes, glad he’s working on this and doing his share of good tv. What the Hose also needs is some serious campaign efforts and recruiting, we need to take back the house, that should be their focus.
“...Call me when someones in jail....”
Yeah, when we hear the handcuffs clicking, let’s have a party. The referrals are fluff. At least let us see some indictments to get justice rolling.
I and others are with you Rep. Nunes! Go, fight, win!

Comments like this not permitted on FR. You must toe the line and say “Call me when someone’s in jail.” Must. Clutch. Pearls.
I reckon that'll be the twelfth of never ... and that's a long, long time.
Ditto!
Nunes is on his own here. He is getting NO help.
Nunes has done more than anyone else, by far, to see justice dome. As the DoJ has been AWOL, Nunes has even filed his own suits in civil court. God Bless him, and may he finally get some help.
Call me when someones in jail.

I think that leaders acting traitorously
should be handled as Romania’s
Ceausecu was in 1989.
Politicians would clean up their
acts after one or two were dispatched.
Thank you Mister Nunes. I know and understand.
My perennial observation: if the trials are held in DC, I can’t foresee any convictions.
Is a Vow more like a promise or a wish?
