[His routine is to go to a construction site at night several times the next town over.]
This thread reminded me of something many years back. Worked for a medical company in the...urban areas.
Anyway, nearby there was a market of sorts, with a small restaurant operation out front.
One day they were shut down. Permanently.
Turns out they had been fencing stolen power tools - power tools stolen from construction sites.
I don’t know if that’s what had been occurring with this story - just that this thread reminded me of that.
I had never thought of people doing that. But I suppose they’ll steal anything.
The owner of the construction site said that this man did not take anything. And I think it would be pretty obvious on video if you took power tools.
The only such that I know of, we’re in cases where the contractor actually stole his own tools. And got the insurance company to pay off.
They say they know he went into a construction site, into a house being built. THey say he came out with nothing, so that means he didn’t steal anything.
WHat I want to know, for completeness — was there anything in the house under construction that would have been easy to steal, and worth stealing? Or had the construction company locked everything up because of the fear of people stealing the stuff.
I’ve wandered into houses under construction before, it is fascinating, but usually I don’t see tools and stuff lying around.
