Dr. Fauci reportedly to testify reopening too early risks ‘needless suffering and death’ from Coronavirus

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease specialist and a key member of President Donald Trump’s White House coronavirus task force, reportedly plans to publicly warn states Tuesday that prematurely reopening their economies will cause “needless suffering and death.”

On Monday night, The New York Times’ Sheryl Gay Stolberg reported that Fauci had sent her an email ahead of his public testimony the following day at a hearing of Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.

“The major message that I wish to convey to the Senate HLP committee tomorrow is the danger of trying to open the country prematurely,” Fauci wrote in the email, which Stolberg posted on Twitter.

“If we skip over the checkpoints in the guidelines to: ‘Open America Again,’ then we risk the danger of multiple outbreaks throughout the country. This will not only result in needless suffering and death, but would actually set us back on our quest to return to normal,” wrote Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The email appears to put Fauci at odds with President Donald Trump, who has encouraged states to reopen as soon as it was possible to safely do so. A White House spokesman did not immediately respond to an email late Monday night about Fauci’s remarks.

The position of the White House is that it should be left to individual governors whether to follow the guidelines set out by the Centers for Disease Control, which describe criteria that states should reach before they begin a phased reopening.

These include a downward trajectory in the number of “positive tests” or “documented cases” of coronavirus for at least two consecutive weeks. Other recommendations include being able to provide “robust contact tracing” for people who test positive, and “surveillance testing” for high-risk groups.

FOR THOSE WHO SUSPECT THAT DR. FAUCI HAS SOME FINANCIAL STAKE IN GILEAD's REMDESIVIR, NOTE THIS:

Update (1040ET): Testifying virtually, Dr. Fauci delivered his opening statement, offering lawmakers a test of all the different efforts underway to find cures - using, in many cases, broad-spectrum antivirals - and vaccines. Notably, Dr. Fauci noted several caveats, one being that Gilead's remdesivir has proven to be a "modest success" by the results so far - it's not the 'game-changer' the market would like to believe. Dr. Fauci also noted that some of the vaccine trials could cause harm to test subjects, while listing at least 8 vaccines (including Moderna's) in some stage of development.

Here's the exact quote on remdesivir (h/t to FT):

Let me take a moment to describe a placebo-controlled randomised trial, which was done internationally, with a power of more than 1,000 individuals and sites throughout the world. It was in hospitalised patients with lung disease, the endpoint was primarily time to recovery. The result was statistically significant, but really modest, and we must remember it was only a modest result, showing that the drug made a 31 per cent faster time recovery.

Define “needless”. We kill over 250 children every year transporting them to and from school, but we still do it. Are those “needless” deaths? And if so, what is the solution? And what will be the impact if we stop transporting children to school?

IOW, what is your solution to reducing “needless” deaths and what is the cost of that solution? Is the cost so high that we just accept the deaths, like we do with children being transported to school?

There’s a risk. Keep in mind there’s a risk in driving an automobile on the highway. We have to keep on living and learn how to live with the virus. The national emergency is over.

Look up the word “peckerhead” - a few lines above “prick” - and you’ll see Fauci’s picture.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease specialist

How did he attain this status? What studies has he conducted? How many patients has he treated?

These evil scumbags never address the lives lost to drugs, alcohol, suicide and homicide brought on by this lockdown bs.

May Fauci’s covid exposure flare up and render him unable to run his mouth.

As opposed to people losing their homes and starving. Funny how people who have a steady paycheck no matter what, want to keep the rest of us out of work.

Easy for him to say. He gets his fat, $10K per week government check, paid for by the taxpayers regardless of what is happening to the rest of society. No one elected this napoleon-like shrew to make policy decisions.

So the little rat sends the NYT an e-mail the day before he testifies. Total set up. So now if there’s any rise they can come after Trump and say he ignored the experts advice to help his re-election

SARS-Cov-Flu (see tagLine) is 38x more infectious than SARS Classic. it’s so infectious that lockdowns don’t stop the spread.

The WHO’s initial assessment has proven true – the spread of SARS-Cov-Flu cannot be stopped

There is no reason to continue economic lockdowns – they do not work

Fauci is responsible for many deaths. He covers for China and the WHO. He discredits a cheap and easy early treatment by chloroquine and Zpack. He intends to undermine the effort to restart the US economy. Many have died and many more will die because of Fauci. He needs to be silenced and tried for his crimes.
