Sheep are stupid.
When compared to most progs, however, the sheep look pretty darned bright. Confronted by a predator, sheep will panic and run away, while progs, in the same situation, will run toward the predator bleating and defecating along the way.
Sheep will respond positively to their guard dogs. Progs will trample them to death.
