The CDC numbers for Covid-19 deaths are in fact tens of thousands less than what is being shown in the WorldOMeter and Johns Hopkins University websites.

As they confirm, they take a few off (like a couple of hundred in PA, and put a bunch on (like a couple of thousand when they reconciled the deaths at home). In general, the count is low rather than high.

Regardless, a consensus for the numbers so far will take at least 6 months.
