Gowdy was in the best position to defend the truth. I think it is now obvious that he did not.
There are some who did like Nunes, but Gowdy could have been the strongest voice. He wasn’t.
Don’t forget, it was Gowdy who conducted a multi-year ‘investigation’ into Benghazi screaming that it warranted investigation for two years and millions of dollars but then concluded no one did anything wrong.
Gowdy’s been a tool for the other side all along. Presumably blackmailed as well as who knows what else.
If you remember Nunes was suspended from his chairmanship to investigate a fake corruption charge. Ryan let that go on for nearly the whole session.
