And it’s a stretch. You’d have to say they were using the force of the US gov’t against it’s own citizens illegally to over throw the duly elected president.
That’s a great point. Plus, since this was a conspiracy, where they mention “fines,” they also need to bring in the RICO statutes, which can hugely increase the amount of the fines.
And then there are the civil suits, from everyone victimized, including President Trump, for legal fees. The bad actors will NOT be covered under their government immunity, since they acted well beyond their authority.
And finally, sue the crap out of the media. If it can be shown that the media was knowingly working with an illegal attempt to overthrow the elected President, then that is no longer a first Amendment issue, but covering up for an illegal act, as well as knowingly disregarding the truth, promoting malicious lies, making the media companies accessories. They knowingly lied about things with the intent to overthrow the election. Hey, why not charge them with Sedition too, though it might be a bit more difficult.
