What crime did McMichaels witness? Because they both claim they didn’t witness any crime but was told about him trespassing on a construction site (house under construction)

That gives neither of them the license to pursue Arbery.

Honestly, they were better off just leaving the police work, to the police

You are wrong. You do not have to see a felony with your own eyes in order to have probable cause. If that were the standard, the police couldn’t arrest anybody because they typically get called to the scene of the crime. So in another words, if a bank robbery took place, the cops couldn’t pull the bank robbers over since they didn’t actually witness the bank robbery. The Georgia statute specifically says the person can make a citizens arrest if they see a felony or it’s within their knowledge.
