What is the relevance of a comment like this?
Are the lives of these people less valuable than someone younger?
The point is that this article asks people to see themselves losing 10 years of their lives because they had COVID and got over it. And, this is not at all what this article in its distorting way is saying. Instead, it speculates that these people’s lives were ended pre-maturely and offers a number.
Now it may be true that these people died early, but it is very probably not. Instead they made assumptions about the state of these people and then projections from those assumptions. Every year this same cohort is victimized by the flu prematurely ending their lives. Its not to be hard hearted, but to notice when you are being manipulated.
And, you asking this.. means you are just fine with this sort of manipulation.
