I’d guess it’s because it a “white” sounding name and the name and stereo typical personal traits are safe to snark and make fun of.
I guess it’s seems generic and only applicable to people over 40 or so.
Sort of like the ‘Mildred’ of times past.
Sad for people whose real name is ‘Karen’, many of whom do not meet the new, unflattering definition/standard of the busybody Karen.
