I think all of this finger-pointing at China is a distraction from the real question:
Why did American citizens allow Leftist bureaucrats, politicians and fake news pundits to turn this pandemic scare into an excuse for marshal law?
Another way to frame the issue is this: Even though food, medicine, energy and other critical supplies are always a matter of life and death, American citizens never saw that as a reason to allow the government to seize control of production, and to allocate supplies according to which citizens are essential and which are non-essential.
No, that is called Marxism - and we have long ago rejected that approach in favor of free enterprise and a constitutional republic. Free individuals making choices is what governs our society - the marketplace of supplies (and ideas) is far more successful than bureaucrats with PHDs . Why? Because Marxism doesn’t work. It lacks the experimentation, innovation and risk-taking that only a free people engage in. Consensus thinking and bureaucratic group-think leads to a one-size-fits-all monoculture that is a devoid of imagination and recipe for failure.
So why did we let the government crack down on us over this particular pandemic scare, when 250 years of success have proven that our strength lies in our individual freedom, our innovation and our experimentation?
In past pandemic threats we didn’t submit to this kind of government crackdown. Clearly medical opinions vary greatly regarding whether Fauci’s extreme social distancing is the answer vs. evolution’s tried-and-true approach of exposure and natural herd immunity. Why weren’t individuals, localities and states allowed to follow a course of their choosing?
Since when does the central government get to have so much control over us? And since when is it so OK to suppress dissenting views?
I don’t care what your opinion is of social distancing vs herd immunity - why is there no healthy debate? Where did the government get the right to force us to close our businesses, stay in our homes and decide what is essential.

To your larger point, these globalists have been looking for any excuse to create panic and destroy our Constitutional Republic and small (d) democratic institutions. And the prog teachers in public schools have conditioned at least two generations into believing that everything about America is wrong, while simultaneously depriving them of an education in Civics. It's a perfect black swan/ wolf in sheep's clothing/sheep conglomeration with which to push the neo-fuedalist agenda.
