San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin believes his father, convicted murderer and former Weather Underground member David Gilbert, should be released from prison due to the coronavirus pandemic. Gilbert and Boudin’s mother, Kathy Boudin, were convicted of murder in 1983 for serving as getaway drivers during a bank robbery that left three people dead at the hands of their co-conspirators.

I’m not in favor of vigilante justice, but its still better than no justice at all.

By the way, he barely won. It was a very close race that should have resulted in a recount but it never happened for some odd reason.
That would open up space to incarcerate more dangerous criminals like salon owners. Makes perfect sense.
Does this DA not understand that prisons are bad places? As much as most prisoners do not deserve it, society should take all reasonable steps to prevent the spread of corona in prisons but releasing them is not in any way reasonable. Getting a disease that might be fatal is not part of the planned punishment but it might be one of the consequences of his actions.
He (Boudin) should have no official voice in that decision.

You need to look at who elected him. Regarding another lunatic lefty, Nancy Pelosi, a tv talking head said, “Pelosi does not represent the views of typical Americans. She does, however, represent the typical views of the people who elected her.”
Capital punishment for murder would have solved your problem.
Easy answer. It’s San Francisco, one of the most anti-American cities in the US.
Hanging in the town square is a way to get out of prison.
