I think that the timeline misses important dates by jumping from January 12, 2017 to January 24, 2017:
Jan 13-15, 2017 — Spicer and Pence describe the Flynn-Kislyak call inaccurately.
+/- Jan 15, 2017 - Comey informs DOJ that FBI is investigating Flynn with respect to the call. DOJ believes the Trump team should be told, Comey disagrees. S. Yates reports she was frustrated by Comey’s shifting reasons for not informing Trump administration.
Jan 20 — Susan Rice’s Memo regarding January 5th discussion of Flynn with Obama, Biden, Comey, and Yates, “Obama said handle it by the book”
Jan 20 - Trump Inauguration
Jan 21 - Strozok proposes pretextual “briefing” of Flynn to Priestap and others. (Saturday)
Jan 22 - Unknown FBI agent emails Strzok and Page “if we usually tell the WH, then I think we should do what we normally do.” (Sunday)
Jan 23 - Yates + other DOJ meeting, need to press FBI to notify WH
Jan 23/24 - Priestap notes show internal FBI debate (”What’s our goal”)
Jan 24th AM - Yates calls Comey to demand the WH be notified.
Jan 24th 12:35 PM - McCabe calls Flynn to arrange interview
Jan 24th PM - Comey calls Yates back and says, too late the investigators are on their way to the meeting.
Jan 24th 4:30 PM Flynn Interview
They waited until Obama was out of office and had the strange Susan Rice memo in place as “evidence” Obama was not really involved before kicking things into gear with a 7:30 p.m. email on a Saturday night from Strzok

The meeting with Flynn occurred less than two hours after McCabe placed the call to set it up. Another example of moving very fast, this time after Yates had reached out to Comey to demand that the Trump WH be informed in the morning of Jan 24th.
Here’s something else that happened on January 3, 2017:

And whatever ‘business’ brought her [Yujing Zhang] to the US on certain dates (for example just before the inauguration), seems to still be a bit of a mystery at the moment.
