Henry Cisneros-with his mistress scandals was mayor when my 1st hubby and I lived there-there was also a married city councilman who was doing the backseat boogie with his way younger admin assistant in Brackenridge Park one night when a couple of gang bangers accosted them-the councilman ran off in his skivvies like a rabbit, leaving the woman in his car to fend for herself-he was ridiculed in the news all over the state-someone made up a flyer for a fake event named after the guy-the Uresti Brackenridge Park Run-and listed rules for participation-must drive a Volvo to the starting line, race must be run in your underwear, chased by gang bangers etc-hubby got ahold of a copy of it at work and we really laughed over it...
SA has been the butt of many jokes for clueless city government and idiocy for a long time...
Chinese virus, is that any more racist than Hong Kong Flu? Spanish flu? Asian Flu? MERS (Middle East respiratory syndrome), German measles? How about Swedish meatballs, black Russians, the Harlem shuffle, the Bristol Stomp, My Woman From Tokyo, etc. Better keep my big mouth shut or they’ll get more dumb ideas.

“Resolution being voted on by San Antonio City Council this morning labels terms “Chinese Virus” and “Kung Fu Virus” as hate speech and “all persons are encouraged to report any such antisemitic, discriminatory or racist incidents to the proper authorities for investigation,” tweeted reporter Jaie Avila.
I guess the 1st amendment stops just short of San Antonio.
Maybe the 2nd will come into play instead.

It is Wuhan virus, Chinese virus, period-if I had the money to do it, I’d ask one of my neighbors who has a friend with a plane-and a dark sense of humor- to fly over SA’s downtown and courthouse towing a big banner that says “it is the Wuhan virus-the Chinese virus-get the f*** used to it!”
