California businesses received highly anticipated new guidelines Thursday from Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration that outline the first widespread changes to a statewide stay-at-home order that shut most retail shops to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Newsom is allowing some businesses, such as clothing stores, florists, bookstores and sporting goods shops to open their doors for the first time in nearly two months, with some restrictions. The governor has said the order detailed Thursday won't include other close-contact businesses, such as dine-in restaurants and hair salons.

It depends on where in the state you live. Just read on the local newspaper FB page that my county, east of SF, seems to be doubling down on the house arrest crap with no end in sight.

Absolutely un-fukking-believable!

Like I said, “loosening” is a relative term. Few renegade counties in Northern California but most places if is as you say. Down here we are arguing about trying to get the Health Officers under control. There is not much in this “loosening” other than manufacturing. Retail with curbside service is not much. Many warehouses are already open - i.e. Amazon etc

here’s a little more detail
https://laist.com/latest/post/20200507/gov-newsom-coronavirus-california-updates-covid-19

Starting on Friday, the three areas that can start reopening are:

Retailers with increased curbside pickup and delivery, encouraging physical distancing during pickup; the state is also encouraging them to install hands-free devices

Manufacturers, who Ghaly said should close breakrooms, but add outdoor break areas with physically distanced seating

Warehouses should look similar to those manufacturers, Ghaly said. They should also carry sanitation materials during deliveries, he added, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) for each stop

further in the story

Coming soon, but later, Ghaly said:

Offices with physical distancing (but telework is still encouraged)
Seated dining at restaurants, but with physical distancing
Shopping malls, and not just being able to pick up things ordered online
Outdoor museums

Ya see? Pelosi’s nephew Gavin Newsom is not such a tyrant after all. In his all-caring benevolence he is restoring a few of our Constitutional rights that were, until six weeks ago, were held inviolate by any politician. Isn’t the boy sweet for doing so? I’m certain he and his Auntie Pelosie think so.

Newsom's announcement comes on the same day the Newsom administration issued new projections that show California faces a stunning $54 billion budget deficit due to the coronavirus pandemic. The state was running a $21 billion surplus last year and projected a $6 billion surplus just three months ago.

Gee, just how much can the California Taxpayer shoulder for your moral superiority and social justice warrior jihad?

Not just California taxpayers. Newsome is holding the entire state hostage until the Feds bail him out.

Between Newsome and Trump, who do you think will blink first? Trump has already said sanctuary laws and those ridiculous no-bail laws are on the table.

When will business owners realize that the government never had the right to close them down in the first place? Now the govt is choosing which businesses are safe to open. Grocery stores have always been OK. Now bookstores and clothing stores are OK. How was that decided? Why not gyms or restaurants?

It doesn’t make sense for healthy people to wear rags over their mouth and pretend we are all safe from communicable disease. It doesn’t make any sense to quarantine healthy people. It’s never been done before. When are people going to stop and think and realize that they have had enough of big government trampling their God given rights?

I think these little tyrant governors were the ones made fun of and bullied by the “in” kids at school. They have deep seated hate and issues going on and now they can wield their power to get back at all who made fun of them -in their minds. Serious psychotic issues. We all know people like them.

As each state opens without the sky falling, it creates pressure on the other states.

Where does Newsom get his hair gel?
Is his pillow all greasy?
Reporters should ask him who does his hair.
