For 10 minutes, a woman heard a man yelling for help Tuesday. And then, it stopped.
She called the Kootenai County Sheriffs Office.
That led to a search around North Derting Road by KCSO deputies and neighbors by foot and ATV. They checked as close as they could get to the area, but didnt find anyone, or anything, KCSO reported.
A mystery? Perhaps not. While not confirmed, they discovered a likely reason for the cries for help.
Deputies later learned there were some men training some hound dogs in the area, and this could have been the source of what she originally heard, KCSO reported.
We have a bluetick living a hundred yards west. There’s no way its bay would be confused for a human. Wonderful hound by the way.
Maybe “Help” was the dog’s name?
Foxes tend to scream “help” like a woman being assaulted in the woods.
My rottie doesn’t bark, he roos. Rooo rooo rooo!
His other sound is wookie. He actually sounds like a wookie, and you can get him to do it by making the sound yourself. Amusing.
name the dog shark and take it to the crowded beach and yell it’s name
“Foxes tend to scream help like a woman being assaulted in the woods.”
I didn’t know that. Just found a number of YouTube videos with foxes screaming at night and they DO sound like a woman being attacked. That is so weird.
Thanks for pointing that out.
