Trump participates in National Day of Prayer service

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump participated Thursday, May 2, 2020 in a National Day of Prayer service.

The National Day of Prayer began in 1952, when Congress approved a joint resolution that then-President Harry Truman signed into law. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a law that designated the first Thursday in May the annual National Day of Prayer.

Franklin Graham: “Pray for President Donald J. Trump, that God would give Him the wisdom, peace, strength, humility, and fortitude needed to do the job God has called him to do.”

I personally believe Trump was “called” by God.

I know many have been praying concerning our troubled country and especially now, during the pandemic. Today, the National Day of Prayer, let us ALL pray and raise our collective voices to God for His help, blessing, and mercy.

“Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14–15).

“And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight”
(1 John 3:22).

And it's not just about jobs and economic opportunity. It's about freedom, exercise of "Creator-endowed rights and liberties," and opportunity for each citizen, not just self-appointed elitists who fancy themselves as entitled to make decisions for all.

Throughout, Richard Frothingham, the historian, develops the idea that it is "the Christian idea of man" which allowed the philosophy underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution to become a reality--an idea which recognizes the individual and the Source of his/her "Creator"-endowed life, liberty and law.

Is there any wonder that the enemies of freedom, the so-called "progressives," do not promote such authentic histories of America? Their philosophy puts something called "the state," or "global interests" as being superior to individuals and requires a political elitist group to decide what role individuals are to play.

In other words, they must turn the Founders' ideas upside-down in order to achieve a common mediocrity for individuals and power for themselves.

Thomas Jefferson wrote to Roger Weightman on June 24, 1826:
