Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered for the “immediate release” of a woman who was sentenced to jail for seven days for refusing to apologize for reopening her salon business in defiance of county lockdown orders.
Abbot released a statement Wednesday denouncing the judge who sentenced Shelley Luther to jail, saying there better ways of protecting public safety than jailing a mom wanting to feed her kids. “As I have made clear through prior pronouncements, jailing Texans for non-compliance with executive orders should always be the last available option,” Abbot stated.
“Compliance with executive orders during this pandemic is important to ensure public safety; however, surely there are less restrictive means to achieving that goal than jailing a Texas mother.”

I don’t see where Abbott said any such thing. He pontificates and agrees with Paxton, but never says she should be immediately released.
This judge is a democrat state-ist jack ass, who needs to be put in his place. However it is that we got to this place we need to set things right in any and every way possible.Our liberty is the most important thing and it is under attack by the left. We all should be willing to fight them to the death. It's our duty as Americans to not take this tyranny lying down.
In St Paul, MN an African American barber opened his small shop last week in defience of the Governor’s shutdown order. He was using reasonable protective measures by wearing a mask and disposable gloves and had his patrons waited outside his shop observing social distancing. His combs scissors and clippers were disinfected between clients. He was shutdown by the local police and now faces a $25,000 fine and the permanent loss of his barbers license. Our liberal Democrat Governor, Tim Walz, has not given any compassionate intervenvion like Gov Abbot did in Texas. So much for the Democrats sticking up for minorities and rhe little guy.
Yes, and the judge went further than that with the comments he made, and by punishing her for not changing her principles and bowing before him. She is not even in jail for what she did, but for what she believes.
“If Dallas County is prepared to completely forgo prosecution of actual thefts, it cannot confine a woman to jail because she operated her business,” Paxton added.

I didn’t see the race of those involved because I can’t bring myself to turn on the tv/news these days. I did hear that arrogant a-hole of a “judge” on the radio.. new york democrat if I ever heard one.. What the heck is he doing here?

I don’t think it has happened or is going to happen. AG Paxton was just on Laura Ingraham saying he hopes shows like this will put pressure on the judge to release her. Are you kidding AG.
