Her are her lies in the first three minutes:
She says there was no warrant to arrest her, and no charges.
Snopes biases their conclusions at times, not their sources: Was a Scientist Jailed After Discovering a Deadly Virus Delivered Through Vaccines?
"A few months after that, Mikovits was arrested in southern California on an out of county warrant from Washoe County, Nevada, for allegedly taking lab notebooks, a computer, and other material from the Whittemore Peterson Institute in Reno, Nevada, after the WPI fired her. The arrest came in conjunction with a lawsuit from WPI that sought a restraining order to block Mikovits destruction of data which they maintained belonged to the institute"
There were no charges and the police terroized her husband for five days: Discredited chronic fatigue researcher in California jail
"In a stunning twist, Mikovits was arrested on Friday, and spent five days in a California jail cell, held without bond. She was released Tuesday after an arraignment hearing, according to court records. An arrest warrant issued by University of Nevada at Reno police listed two felony charges: possession of stolen property and unlawful taking of computer data, equipment, supplies or other computer-related property.
"She was fired in September, and this month her former employer filed a lawsuit alleging she had wrongfully taken lab notebooks, a computer and other proprietary data. Other researchers have discredited her work, and the journal Science, which published her study, is investigating whether the data were manipulated."
She couldn't get a lawyer: Nevada drops charges against researcher Mikovits
""Dr. Mikovits always knew she would be exonerated once the proper investigation into the facts had been conducted," said Mikovits' attorney, Tammy Riggs. "She is happy that the complaining witnesses' attempt to destroy her reputation failed and now she can go back to doing the only thing she has ever wanted to do, which is find a cure for chronic fatigue syndrome."
"WPI's attorney Ann Hall said the institute was disappointed that the criminal charges were dropped and that Mikovits still has not returned all of the missing property."
I think a lawyer would call foul that a case under seal, leading to a charges, warrant, arrest accross state lines, and a case being dropped, would somehow prevent a person from having counsel or due process... when that person in fact had a lawyer. That is a huge red flag on this story right there.
This was after the property she said she didn't take was returned. Technically, she didn't take the notebooks or computer, she asked she had another researcher take them for her: Embattled scientist in theft probeSacked virologist faces lawsuit from Nevada institute:
"(Max) Pfost has declined to answer Natures questions, but according to his affidavit Mikovits gave him the keys to her office at a bar on the evening of 29 September and instructed him to retrieve laboratory notebooks and biological samples. Early the next morning, Pfost took 1220 note-books from a locked desk in Mikovitss office. The WPI noticed the notebooks were missing on 30 September, according to a representative for the institute. Claim-ing they were the property of the insti-tute, it reported them missing to campus police. It was 17 October before Mikovits picked up the notebooks from Pfost, before returning to California. "
She was under a gag order for five years, under threat of prosecution, from late 2011 or early 2012.
Yet she wrote the book "Plague: One Scientist's Intrepid Search for the Truth about Human Retroviruses and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Autism, and Other Diseases" and gave a interview claiming she was smeared, World-known Oxnard researcher claims she was smeared, pushed out, both in November 2014, while under threat of prosecution for speaking out?
"To this day I have no constitutional freedoms or rights."
So if what she is saying is true, she should have been back in jail back in 2012.
ok, doomer.
Thanks. That’s helpful information. When I looked at Snopes, all it refuted was the claim about why she was arrested. That was a fact she had already made clear in the video, ie... that she was charged with possessing stolen equipment.
It still seems odd to me. For starters this: “An arrest warrant issued by University of Nevada at Reno police”?? A University Police force can issue warrants? Being held for 5 days, without bond, seems a bit excessive for missing lab notebooks.
The Article also seems to contradict itself. First, they say she was just wrong in her first paper, claiming to have found mouse virus remnants. Later, they say her finding were correct, but we the result of contamination.
Another thing that seems fishy to me is: the large number of “retracted” papers. If you want to feed a conspiracy, that’s a great way to do it.
As usual though, Truth is elusive. Quackery flies around the world with amazing speed.
Again... very much thank you for the excellent sourcing and detail.
I’m staying up too late trying to watch this. What I said about the first three minutes? The rest is more of the same.
Wiz-Nerd, the most amazing thing. I did not watch it with YOU. We watched it last week when it first came out. And her other interview. They’ve been all over the Internet.
I want to see it, use my critical thinking ability, and come to my own conclusions.
Thanks bboop. I was reading it literally and it made me wonder. Guess having too much time on one’s hands stimulates the deductive reasoning in the brain. :-)
take care. we’re all stressed out. The real goal is to fight for our freedoms and push the Commie Rats into a corner of their own making.
