More like they went down because everything went bad, first Iraq then the economy.

Those trying to defend him here by claiming that Iraq went just great and he bear NO responsibility for the economy (after 7 years in office) had a tough job.

If you remember, the Rats took the House in 2006. W had done some things right. But the Rats worked to tank everything in sight after they took the House and blame him for the ALL the problems . . . ad nauseum. I fault W for feeding the military industrial complex with Iraq and for agreeing to pay for senior prescription meds. W, his old man and most republicans wanted to make money by latching on to government in the right places (eg military supply contracts). The Rats want to steal everything that is not nailed down.
