It wasn’t social distancing, but breaking quarantine. They agreed to a 2 week quarantine when they arrived. They knew what they were getting into but probably assumed the quarantine wouldn’t be enforced. They were going to have the beaches all to themselves! They should have known better, but what is the point of Hawaii letting someone travel there for a week long honeymoon when they are supposed to be quarantined for 2 weeks?

Social distancing is being used as a euphemism for an unconstitutional quarantine.

I hope the hotel, those cops and their bosses, and the local taxpayers lose their shirts in a lawsuit.

“They agreed to a 2 week quarantine when they arrived.”

Not sure that they did...article sez...

“A California couple who allegedly refused to sign a coronavirus quarantine...”

There’s more to this story, I bet. They may’ve actually had to agree to the quarantine online to complete the reservation. But, seeing as how this was a honeymoon, the reservation could’ve been made long before the WuFlu hit the world.

Also, being from the Ukraine, they probably don’t just roll over for petty tyrants. Real world experience has taught them a thing or two.
