Dr. Deborah Birx said protesters who gather without wearing masks and not practicing social distancing at rallies against states’ lockdown regulations are “devastatingly worrisome” because they could spread the coronavirus to at-risk family members.
Birx, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, was asked by host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” about crowds that gathered at Michigan’s state capitol from a “public health standpoint.”
“It’s devastatingly worrisome to me personally because if they go home and, in fact, their grandmother or their grandfather who has a co-morbid condition and they have a serious or a very or an unfortunate outcome, they will feel guilty for the rest of our lives,” she responded. “So we need to protect each other at the same time we’re voicing our discontent.”
Demonstrations against governors’ stay-at-home orders have ramped up in the past weeks as the economic effects caused by the pandemic worsen and more Americans apply for unemployment benefits.

Yes, it does. It is a mitigation measure, not a complete preventive.
Somewhere on the main virus thread there is a drawing that shows the amount of virus bestowed on another person with and without masks. The only thing that prevents any virus sharing at all is staying home, but the masks do help.

Actually, if you follow all the advice, even that is not a guarantee. The COVID 19 can be on any deliveries you receive, including groceries. The most extreme advice I have seen is that you should wear gloves when handling any deliveries and both bags and every individual item in grocery deliveries should be washed. If possible, any soft surface deliveries should be quarantined outside for one day and hard surfaces three days. Also, every delivery should be left untouched for at least three hours to avoid the possibility that you might breathe any air expelled by the delivery person. Of course, by then you have gone insane and are beyond paranoid. Sigh.
birx who likely gets paid a few hundred thousand dollars a year plus 30-50% benefits is an out-of-touch wealthy “elite”. She has no concern for how her statements effect the average person. She personifies “out-of-touch” smugness. When will she shut up?

If there is a spike in cases, so what? The shutdown was get the hospitals ready for the spikes, not to ensure they didn’t happen. This was mission creep.

I’ve read enough actual studies, not opinion pieces, to convince me that there’s some benefit to masks during this pandemic.
Even the authors of the study about cloth masks cited in the “Best Article” felt the need to correct peoples’ misinterpretation of their study.
Well he’s not perfect. He’s done an outstanding job but still has more to learn about the mostly unconstitutional federal government (the “Deep State” and the “Swamp”) and the difference between being a government honcho vs.a business honcho.
He is admirably loyal in business and personal affairs, but in government this same tendency towards loyalty often works against him and America .
Also, in business you want to grow and expand in which he obviously has been very successful. However, in government, especially in this mostly illegal federal government, he needs to GREATLY SHRINK the size of this federal government entity of which he’s the executive in charge.
In those senses, I think Trump is not naturally geared. He needs to pray to see and change from his natural tendencies and instincts, to what needs to happen for the good of America which in some cases like these, goes against his natural instincts.
Again, what worked for his business and his first four years in office, will not always work for what he must do his second four years in office: DRAIN THE SWAMP - ie. DISMANTLE the 80+% of the unconstitutional potion of the feds to MAGA by Restoring our Free Constitutional Republic.
We’re not ready yet and Trump is not ready to say “KEEP America Great”. Still a lot of work to be done.
I attended a protest yesterday. There was a sting police presence who stayed off to the side well away from the group.
The fact that a US Congressman was in attendance surely helped as we were all there to redress a grievance with the government.
None of the cops wore masks and weren’t doing much social distancing. The head of state police is threatening to send us all citations which they will lose on constitutional grounds plus the fact the cops themselves weren’t playing along with his dumb ideas.
I think these two should have to disclose their financials, to verify that they have NO interest, whatsoever in an drug or vaccine maker companies, many of which they do speaking engagements for.
Let’s also see the books of the CDC and NIAID Foundations....I want to know who has donated to these two foundations.
