I think the DNC has no idea what the hell to do. If they do it before, then the Bernie bros will crawl over glass to push Bernie in as the #2 candidate. The convention was pushed back solely for this reason. If the Bernie camp can convince 20% of Biden’s delegates to overturn the superdels that will never vote for him, they skip the brokered convention and Bernie is the candidate. This has probably a 2% chance of happening.
More likely, they’ll slide Biden into the convention, he’ll make a crappy speech, they’ll slot Hillary as his VP, and he’ll fade away from health problems a week afterwards.
I think the real problem is that the Bernies know they got Berned by the DNC. They are going to cause a lot of havoc, worse than 2016. There will be delegates on the floor screaming and fighting people to get them to change over to Bernie and some delegates might get thrown out or arrested, which only inflames the problem worse.
Then you have Berniebros marching and smoking weed outside like 1968. Bernie should be suing NY state and others that deny him the election, but he probably already has his 4th house lined up.
Good analysis regarding the likely timing of the switch (i.e. waiting till right after the convention). I think that was probably their original plan. But if this Tara Reid scandal gets out of control before then, they may not have the option of waiting till August. If that happens, things should get very interesting.
Regardless, Bernie will go along with the plan. I can’t believe how gullible the Bernie Bro’s are. They actually think Bernie’s an outsider and that he’s not in on the whole con.
