I just retired from the Department of Defense at the end of the year - ALL of the laptop computers we had (Defense Finance and Accounting Service) were Lenovo. We used to joke that we got Lenovo computers so the Chinese wouldn’t have to install after-market spyware.
Unfortunately it’s not just a joke, multiple backdoors have been found in Lenovo devices, including more since this article, That the DoD is allowed to purchase and use them at all is an outrage.
