I am watching to see what they plan to do to recoup the lost revenue. I see a new push for tolls or tax increases.
Foghorn Leghorn?
McTaxter?
Yup,I've been to one or two of them.In fact once in a while...when I have a free day...I drive down to Greenwich to walk around and fantasize about how my life might have turned out if I had worked harder in school! ;-)
Did you know there is a Red Sox farm team in Greenville?
Ball Park has a mini wall, too :)
AAA or AA, whichever is smaller
Agreed—I have been amazed at how many stores and trades-people are actually open for business in CT during the “lock-down”.
It will be a very easy transition for other businesses to open.
It’s getting plainer by the day: if you have a democrat or rino governor, you’re $©red. It’s that simple. They’re playing for time, the elections.
Fritz Hollings rates that first moniker.
I hear ya my friend! My husband on at the brink of getting us the heck out of here too!
The funny thing is, within recent memory, CT had usually elected Republican (Rinos) governors.
LOL, same here! Fairfield County, CT is like a foreign country to me. Completely different world (and home prices) than in the rest of CT.
Yup. Living under this tyranny in CT has been an eye-opener... the final nail in the coffin for me. Hubby and I have been in kind of a slow process of fixing up our house for sale. I really want to accelerate that now.
That really wasn't very "recent". Seems like many, many moons ago.
I wish hubby and I had gotten the hell outta here when Malloy was first fraudulently elected in 2010. Several friends of ours did, and they are VERY happy they left CT.
Yes, we know about the Greenville (SC) Drive. They are one of the Red Sox' Single A farm teams. We were hoping to possibly visit the Greenville Drive's ballpark this season, but that doesn't look likely now unfortunately.
Hubby and I met a really nice couple from Greenville last summer up in Portland, ME when at a Portland Sea Dogs' game. (The Portland Sea Dogs are the AA farm team for the Red Sox)
Besides talking baseball, we had a long conversation about living in CT vs. SC. Like you, they are SO happy they left CT for South Carolina.
Great point! As I said before, CT is FUBAR.
LOL... That’s perfect! :-D
OMG. Sounds like our a-hole governor.
Why not open MOST of the state if Boston is still sort of a hot zone? Baker is no better than the tyrannical democRAT governors!
That's right. Who will support the stupid fancy new green FasTrac Bus to Nowhere system if there's no revenue?? You know... those buses with 1-2 people on them that only run between the inner cities??
That's right... thanks for that reminder. No wonder his nickname is Red Ned Lamont.
Well, I don't know if our protests had anything to do with it, but - yes - I did see the latest now is that SOME businesses are supposed to open starting on May 20th, which is still too late in my opinion, given what's going on in some other states.
We'll see if Comrade Lamont sticks to that May 20th date. I have this fear he's going to push it into June...
I would have withing 5-7 days the task force should have been formed with a few members to talk to business owners to figure out needs of various industries and what kind of resources and info do they need to make decisions.
Then work to get them the needed information while you compile things like lead times to open, so if you say they can open on May 20, you need to let them have staff on site by May 15 to get ready, etc.
By week 2 the task force should have been fully staffed reviewing plans to reopen and talking with business leaders on how to make them workable. Then as conditions improve or change you have draft plans ready to go.
Should be sooner for most of the state, like this weekend, Fairfield/New Haven county may have to wait a while longer as an example.
Originally he seemed to be very indecisive on the May 20 date in my opinion, talking about how “at least May 20” etc. when first announced. I know the protests happened after that, so I suspect it may have helped nudge him in the right direction. I doubt he was happy with the protest outside his house.
