Fauci warns reopening states: 'You can't just leap over things'

The infectious disease expert and coronavirus task force member was interviewed on NBC's "TODAY" show.

WASHINGTON — Dr. Anthony Fauci said Thursday that states reopening their economies "can't just leap over things" that would potentially allow the coronavirus to rebound.

In an interview on NBC's "TODAY" show, Savannah Guthrie asked Fauci whether the states that are beginning to reopen have the capability to do contact tracing and Fauci responded that while he can't go through a list of each of them, he urged those that don't have that capability to "go very slowly."

"You can't just leap over things and get into a situation where you're really tempting a rebound," he said. "That's the thing I get concerned about. I hope they don't do that."

The diminutive Dr. Fauci keeps doing his Chicken Little “the sky is falling” routine.

I see people being a lot more conscious and cautious about contact. We might have some flare-ups, but they will be manageable with the way people are conducting themselves.

In addition, as I have been saying since early on, healthy folks under 60 are not much at risk. They need to be out working and thereby helping us build herd immunity. Chicken Little Fauci’s view of COVID-19 is insane and unsustainable. He should be among the ranks of the unemployed.

Look -
there’s no cure.
Treatments are questionable at best.
80% of the people that have symptoms are no worse than typical flu.
90% of the people that have symptoms survive without hospital intervention
And those are all outdated numbers as the current statistics are far better.

That means we live with it.

It doesn’t mean we should go out partying and we should still practice reasonable safety habits and hygiene.

A lock down won’t help or slow the process and as were a Republic founded on the notion that were adults capable of self-responsibility that’s what we should return to. Not destroy our civilization on the cries of chicken littles.

You can’t just leap over things

Nobody ever asks him to get specific. What “things”. The guy speaks in generalities and says whatever the questioner wants to hear.

A germ guy making economic decisions.

***************

An UNELECTED bureaucrat at that. Have to grudingly give him credit; he has adroitly and effectively established himself as a powerful decision maker. Trump seems oblivious to the consequences of letting Fauci inside the tent.

The Faucis of the world like to pretend that ending the possibility of another single Covid-19 infection should be our singular focus. Imagine if a person were given the opportunity to live 120 youthful years, perfectly secure against all disease, but in a medically induced coma. How many people would sign up for that? How about some perspective?

SHUT UP, FOOL! He ought to be personal sued by millions of people whose jobs he destroyed, while he cashed his pay checks and spouted off on TV.
He and Brix were the President’s biggest mistakes, along with ridiculous 2-hour media circuses.

Trump appreciates loyalty.
Birx has actually had his back at times.
But Dr. Tony is so brazenly not a team player it’s stunning that Trump does not react.

Fauci watched and learned from Obama. Talk in generalities and sound authoritative. Gullible people will accept it as “wisdom”.

Fauci is going to find that he can no longer set foot in public anyplace beyond the Beltway without getting a tongue lashing over the lives he’s ruined.

As we progress through discussion on when to open society back up, I’ve noticed that people are expecting way more rigor to be applied to the case to open than was applied to the case for closing.

We closed because of what we didn’t know.

We had models predicting up to 2.2 million deaths worldwide and 100-220 thousand in the US, even with all of the precautions applied.

It turns out that we are at 230,00 worldwide and 67,000 here in the US.

The default position is that we are open. If there is a rigorous case to be made, it is by folks that want to keep us closed.

When this little troll gets fired, he’ll make a beeline for MSNBC / CNN so he can bash the Trump Administration 24/7/365.

He’ll break the sound barrier getting there.

Sounds like he is spreading hysteria like the fake news media. He is tone deaf to the financial and emotional issues and making America weak again.
